Our Volunteers

Halfway Home Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer group. We are very fortunate to have so many compassionate, skilled, energetic and devoted people from the surrounding communities who give their time to support our mission. If you would like to volunteer with us, please fill out the volunteer application form. We will get in touch with you and if there are openings, we will arrange the next step.

Volunteers do so many different tasks for us and they are all equally important. Among the tasks, to name a few, are:

  • Cleaning cages
  • Feeding cats morning and evening
  • Social time and grooming of the cats
  • Feeding orphan kittens
  • Office work
  • Running errands
  • Food Pantry pickup, delivery and sorting
  • Monitoring donation collection boxes
  • Making followup calls
  • Writing thank you notes
  • Picking up and delivering cats to our consulting veterinarians
  • Assisting with stray or feral cat captures
  • Making the starter kits that go out with every adoption
  • Building winter shelters

Our volunteers

Our Board members are also volunteers with duties that fit their skills and availability. Many of them gave us so many hours last year that they received the Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service!
