Big Eyes is a 9 year old fixed male feral cats who lives in one of our managed feral colonies. His foster caregiver felt that Big Eyes was having a problem with severe constipation as he had stopped eating and was not acting like himself.
We have an agreement with our managers of feral colonies that if one of their cats needs help we will take on the issue and so the caregiver again trapped Big Eyes and brought him to the rescue for help. After a few days of slipping miralax mixed into the Gerber chicken baby food, the feral handler saw results.
What goes in must come out and Big Eyes just could not resist the Gerber chicken baby food and never noticed the taste of the miralax. Although grateful for his relief, Big Eyes only managed one quick hiss when put back in his carrier to go home to the colony. Sometimes thanks are really not all that necessary.
