Recycling Programs

HHPR is joining in the ShoeBox Recycling Program. Collect your old shoes, get them to one of our ShoeBox Recycling Locations: 11 Pioneer Ave. in Caribou or at 162 Plymouth Rd in Etna, ME (David and Ruby Bickford). For every 40lbs of shoes we turn in, we get $20.

We have the ShoeBox Collection Boxes at our two locations – we don’t need the box your shoes came in. We accept: all paired men’s, women’s and kids shoes that are still usable. That means no holes in the soles and no wet or mildewed pairs. We cannot accept ski boots, heavy winter boots, roller skates, roller blades, singles or unusables.

We’re collecting used inkjet and laserjet cartridges as part of our ongoing fundraising efforts. The cartridges must be original manufacturer brands, not previously refilled or “compatible” types. Inkjet brands we accept are Canon, HP, Lexmark, Dell, and Brother. Laserjets we accept are Brother, Canon, Dell, HP, Lexmark, Samsung. Put inkjets in plastic baggies to prevent spilling. Laserjets should be in protective wrap and bag or original box. Cartridges can be dropped off at 489 Main Street during Saturday hours. For more information, call 999-1075.
