Tara spent a few months at HHPR’s adoption facility. She charmed all the volunteers with her affection and her funny squeaky purr, but when it came to Adoption Day – forget it. She did not see anyone she wanted.
Then there’s Facebook. Volunteer Kelly Normandin promoted Tara on our Facebook page with some great photos and video that captured Tara’s personality and this worked!
Enter Joan Theriault – who saw Tara and “couldn’t get her off my mind.”
Do you think she could be any more comfortable? She is doing so well. I wanted to tell you about that squeaky purr of hers. I had noticed that when she purred and squeaked, she was doing so through her mouth and her breathing seem to be a little labored. When she was not purring, her breathing was normal. Well, she doesn’t do that anymore at all. She purrs normally now, although it still is little on the loud side, and she does so with her mouth closed and no squeaks. Her breathing isn’t labored any more, either, so I am wondering if that was caused by an allergy or stress. She is so happy and playful and is eating well, and is very talkative. She doesn’t even scratch the furniture. She likes just jump up on my desk when I am working and rub noses with me. We’re having so much fun and are totally in love!!
