Approximately 6.5 million animals entered U.S. shelters in 2023 — a record high. The work you do on the front lines every day is critical in caring for these animals in need. But it takes all of us to turn the tide and create a positive ripple throughout shelters nationwide.

During June’s Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, we’ll be amplifying your work through a national campaign known as The Rescue Effect. The Rescue Effect begins with you and your dedication to providing safe environments where animals can receive critical medical and behavioral care, enrichment, and more. At the ASPCA, our aim is to amplify this critical work and provide life-changing tools, resources, and relocation services that will help you give even more animals second chances.
