FAQ'S

Where are you located?

We are located at 40 Broadway in Caribou, Maine

What are the requirements for Spay/Neutering?

Kittens can be safely spayed or neutered at 2 months old or as soon as they weigh 2 pounds. Also called pediatric spay and neuter, this policy ensures kittens are “fixed” as soon as they’re ready, which benefits cats and the communities where they live.

What time can I pickup my cat from the Clinic?

We cannot answer this due to the number of cats we have each day. They will be with us most of the day, and we will call you to come get your cat. We will not keep your cat or fine you for being later than 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday or 2pm on Sunday.

How do I go about adopting a cat?

To adopt a cat from Halfway Home Pet Rescue, the process begins with visiting our facility or checking our website to view available cats. Prospective adopters can fill out an adoption application, which helps us understand your lifestyle and preferences to ensure a suitable match.

How do I become a Volunteer?

Becoming a volunteer at Halfway Home Pet Rescue is a fulfilling way to make a positive impact in the lives of rescued animals. The first step is to visit our website and fill out the Volunteer Application. Typically, once your application has been approved, we will contact you and arrange a time to attend an orientation session where you will learn about the rescue’s mission, policies, and the various ways they can contribute. Volunteers may assist with daily care tasks such as feeding, grooming, and socializing animals, as well as helping with administrative tasks, fundraising events, or outreach efforts. Volunteering at Halfway Home Pet Rescue not only allows individuals to work hands-on with animals in need but also supports the organization’s efforts to provide quality care and find loving homes for rescued pets. It’s a rewarding experience that fosters a sense of community and compassion for animal welfare.
