Our Mission Remains Strong

Halfway Home Pet Rescue remains committed to the same mission we have always had: rescuing cats, promoting spay/neuter, supporting our local community, and finding loving homes for animals in need.

We are aware that inaccurate and misleading information about our organization is being shared by individuals who are no longer involved with our current operations and do not have firsthand knowledge of the work we are doing today.

Just since Fall of last year, HHPR has:
• Rehomed over 100 cats, with more adoptions already scheduled.
• Helped 35 low-income families and disabled vet owned cats get spayed and neutered through Help Fix ME vouchers.
• Expanded partnerships with veterinarians and rescue organizations to ensure cats receive timely medical care.
• Increased our volunteer team and fostered a positive, respectful environment.
• Improved access to veterinary care so cats receive treatment in a shorter timeframe.
• Continued helping animals beyond our shelter by assisting with the rehoming of dogs, ducks, chickens, and other animals when possible.

Our focus remains where it belongs—providing compassionate care for animals and supporting our local community. If you have questions about our mission, programs, or current operations, we encourage you to contact us directly. We are always happy to provide accurate information.

A huge THANK YOU to our volunteers, adopters, donors, veterinary partners, and supporters who make this work possible every day.

Who We Are

Welcome to Halfway Home Pet Rescue!

Our journey began with a core mission: to make a difference in the lives of Aroostook County’s feline population. Over the years, we’ve evolved, adapting to the specific needs of our community’s cats. Through the dedication of our volunteers and the success of our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics, we’ve achieved significant progress in combating cat overpopulation.

We recognize the diverse needs within our community and strive to address them. From assisting elderly individuals in rehoming their pets to supporting those facing housing insecurity, our volunteers step up when help is needed most. Through collaboration with the Central Aroostook Humane Society, we’ve effectively tackled the challenges facing our community’s cat population.

None of this would be possible without the unwavering commitment of our volunteers, who tirelessly organize and support these vital initiatives.

As you explore our website, you’ll discover more about who we are and the incredible cats we have available for adoption. From heartwarming stories to adorable photos, you’ll see the unique personalities of our feline friends. Whether you’re interested in fostering, adopting, or simply supporting our cause, we invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of these precious animals.

Thank you for visiting Halfway Home Pet Rescue. Together, we’re making a paw’sitive impact!
